War seemed far away...then Pearl Harbor happened...



THE WAR...the monumental, multi-part epic directed and produced by Ken Burns and Lynn Novick, explores the history and horror of World War II from an American perspective by following the fortunes of so-called ordinary men and women who become caught up in one of the greatest cataclysms in human history. 
 Tonight's premiere episode - "A Necessary War", where inhabitants of four towns whose tranquil lives are shattered by the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, and America is thrust into the great conflagration. Follow their stories for the next week...THE WAR...8pm
