23 candidates...7 journalists...118 minutes...
the studios at KACV will be overrun tonight with political aspirations and inspiration...and probably frustration, as we hold a Candidates Forum to help inform voters about the upcoming city elections. We're hosting the event - LIVE - with a panel of journalists from TV, radio and print media, each armed with questions aimed at separating the serious from the clueless. We've given permission to the other broadcast outlets in town to pick up our signal and distribute it on their various secondary channels as a public service, in hopes of reaching as many Amarillo voters as possible...
it will also be posted on our website beginning tomorrow.
It's the political season folks...there's no escape...Candidates Forum at 7pm

This isn't a movie...this is real....
Prisoners who tried to escape were executed in public as an example to other inmates, and very few ever made it out alive. "Escape From Auschwitz" tells the story of two young Slovak Jews, who managed to escape by hiding in a woodpile for three days, then fleeing across enemy territory, determined to tell the world about the atrocities being committed by the Nazis at the camp. This is the story of their journey...Secrets of the Dead...7pm

Every day nearly 7,000 people die in America...
and when these deaths happen suddenly, or under suspicious circumstances, we assume there will be a thorough investigation, just like we see on CSI. But the reality is very different. Nationwide there is a severe shortage of competent forensic pathologists to do autopsies. The rate of autopsies -- the gold standard of death investigation -- has plummeted over the decades...As a result, murderers go free and innocent people go to jail...FRONTLINE 9pm

Why America? Because that's just the way we are...
When a devastating famine descended on Soviet Russia in 1921, it was the worst natural disaster in Europe since the Black Plague in the Middle Ages. Half a world away, Americans responded. By the summer of 1922, Americans were feeding nearly 11 million Soviet citizens a day in 19,000 kitchens. How far would you go to save the world's great art?
Pretending to buy state-approved art, young Igor Savitsky instead daringly rescued 40,000 forbidden works. Though a penniless artist himself, he cajoled the cash to pay for the art from the same authorities that were banning it and amassed the second largest collection of Russian avant-garde art in the world. His location far from Moscow censorship allowed him to pursue what became his real passion: finding and acquiring modern art so out of sync with official taste that it was virtually condemned...

Pete Seeger's floating tribute to a river...
The Clearwater is a traditional wooden sloop that was launched by folk singer Pete Seeger 35 years ago to draw attention to the pollution of the Hudson River. The ship still sails today, serving as a moveable classroom, laboratory and stage. Till The River Runs Clear interweaves scenes of daily life on the sloop with stories about its exciting history and a consideration of many pressing environmental concerns...and there's plenty of Pete's music to boot.
